What song in any movie just hit you hard when you heard it.

For me it was the Jurassic Park theme by John Williams. I love that song, and it added so much to the movie.

I'll interpret 'hit hard' as 'got me excited or jazzed about a movie or onscreen action. In that case, James Newton Howard's Signs opening theme music.

Chong - I agree, Signs had a pretty good score. I've always found the theme from Star Wars to be pretty good (remember just before you'd seen Episode I, when the opening crawl started - it felt good!), but I guess that's just the geek in me.

For me it is the haunting trumpet solos in the soundtrack for Born On The Fourth Of July, another excellent John Williams soundtrack. Second for me would be the theme music for James Newton Howard's Wyatt Earp. I have purchased many DVDs because of the soundtrack music in the movie.
