Which items are you asking about how I put the two reels together? If it is the single reel base I used steel tubing, welded some ends on each side and bolted them on.

I went with the two cast aluminum Goldberg reels, and three wooden dowels per table. I used an epoxy to attach the dowels to the reels, after painting the dowels silver. I left the natural used finish of the reels, for effect. I then had some glass custom cut, for about $30. The dowels, paint and epoxy was about $12, the reels averaged $30 each.



The film is real countdown film that one of the sellers of the reels gave me, he works for Technicolor.
the tables are plenty sturdy for a remote and a drink. If they are not as sturdy as you would like, and you have carpet in the theater, take the hook side of velcro tape and stick it to the bottom of the reel, then place the table where you want it.
