Mount L/R higher than center but wider apart or right next to each other?

    Hi

I have a non-ideal room setup. I can either place my L, R and C speakers basically right next to each other (about 2 inches apart) on top of the TV cabinet my wife wants to get or see if my wife will let me mount them up high. If I mount them, they would be about 2 feet higher than the center and I would not be able to angle them downward towards the listening position. On the bright side, I could get them about 5 feet apart rather than right next to each other.

I have never experienced a speaker setup like this. Have any of you?

    Thanks

I would go for the wider separation option, even though it's not ideal. Having the front speaker tweeters at the same level is of course best. But if you put the left and right speakers right next to each other, you'd have virtually no front sound stage. You would have close to monaural sound!

    Regards,
    Terry
