Well it was a long time in coming but this show finally came across my radar and I am glad it did! I have not laughed this hard in a long time...absolutely brilliant idea for a satire...perhaps not entirely original but funny as hell nonetheless.:emoji_thumbsup:

Last night I heard my wife laughing really hard so I went to see what she was watching. She was watching this show and we both started having hysterics over the action. This is the funniest show I have seen in a long time. I feel sorry for some of the people though. This one girl was trying to go over the rolling logs and really whacked her head. But still, you keep laughing at their pain.

Is this on at a regular time? Or do they just show it every once in a while?

It's on every Thursday with 2 episodes from 9:00-10:00 (the first one being new, the second a rerun) with this hour repeated on Saturday & Sundays 9:00-10:00.

I've caught every episode and am still loving it. A thing of beauty... and hilarity.

Between this and Joe Schmo I actually like some programming on SpikeTV..i didn't expect that.

Okay, I had to revise this thread because I am still watching the Marathon today 10/12. This has to be one of the funniest shows on television right now. Some of the quieter dialogue from the competitors are hilarious!

I'd have to watch each episode many times just to catch all the humor.

They kept showing the episode with the guy doing the backflip gone awry again and each and every time I see that, I laugh my ass off. I TiVo'd it and I laugh my ass off each time I see that scene. That, and then the interview with his kid... This show is priceless!!!

Does anyone know how old this show is? The host (Takeshi Kitano) looks a LOT older now, so is this thing from the early 1980s or what?

I love the dubbing. Most of these shows are really not that entertaining if you watch them in Japanese, but this one is a helluva lot of fun!

I believe IMDB says that the show originated back in 1990.

SpikeTV is showing it again tonight at 12mid and 12:30a. :)

I love the Pornsters against the Home Improvements episode.
"He puts the caulk in the crack"
"Ahh, so he's on the Pornsters team?"
"No he's with the Home Improvement's team"
"Huh??"

Priceless.:D

This show is one of my guilty pleasures. I not only love to see people falling in the mud.. but I love the dubbed over sayings people shout before they attempt an obstacle. "I love chicken!"

I love to watch this and the Joe Schmo Show on SpikeTV... my wife is worried I have a sadistic streak in me. :)

Does anyone know how many episodes are currently in rotation. I'm pretty sure I have seen them all. Spike doesn't provide any episode information for Tivo, so I get appx. 8 or 10 episodes recorded per week and have to scan through each one to see if I have seen it already.

Are new episodes planned??

Not sure, but they show at least ONE new show a week on Thursdays at 9:00pm. All other airings during the week are usually re-runs of that or other episodes.
I love this show.

That, and then the interview with his kid
Is that where the kid had the drawing and said his daddy sucked? :D I was just telling someone about that.

My favorite painful elimination was the woman trying to catch the soccer balls in that giant mud pit. She dropped to her knees, opened her arms, and the ball just smashed into her face

i just caught this show for the first time a few days ago.

i was crackin' up. the show is certainly way better then that thing fox tried to pull.

i should note my girlfriend looked at me like i was an idiot while i was laughing my ass off.

oh well....that just made me feel even more superior. :)

LOL, I don't think so - but almost! It went like this when Guy Ledouche started the interview with the backflip guy after he failed miserably with the Skipping Stones and seemingly woozy:

GL: What happened back there?
Man: Did I win?
GL: Maybe we should talk with your son. (to the son) So what did your daddy promise you if he won?
Man: A new bike.
GL: Ah, a new bike. Do you think it will happen now?
Son: (laughs) No way.
GL: What do you think of your daddy now?
Son: He's a loser!
GL: (to the Man) So, how are you feeling now?
Man: I have blood in my stool.

It seems innocent enough, but the way it was done and the facial expressions that seemed to fit so well - it made me laugh as hard as the backflip itself! :)
