I agree with most of those mentioned, but gotta put the Cave-Troll from LOTR at the top spot... not only does it look absolutely real - also the camera doesn't become almost static as it does in most other cases.

I thought the Balrog was far better than the cave troll. The Balrog was very good.

Yeah, but I thought the cave troll look fake pretty much throughout, especially when it looked around the column, when it was shot through the head with the arrow, and when it had hobbits on it. But then most CG creatures look fake with actors on them. The Balrog rocked in my opinion.

The best example of that was Anakin riding the reek. That was very good. However, Anakin riding the shaak in the field looked fake indeed.

Good choices all, fellas. My favorites would also be:
The cave troll - Fellowship of the Ring
The bug armies - Starship Troopers
Bubo - Clash of the Titans
The monster - Deep Rising
T-Rex - Jurassic Park
Freddie Prinze Jr. - Scooby-Doo
Fluffy - Harry Potter
Billy Zane - Titanic
Oh, and those 'sex-blockers' in Eyes Wide Shut. Those were great.

Sully in Monsters Inc. is pretty amazing, except for his eyes.

The little critter thing in Lost in Space (just kidding)
