Not a tournament, but who (or what) do you think is the most convincing, real-looking completely CG character/monster/alien, etc. from a movie?

I would say:

Cave Troll - Fellowship of the Ring
Watto - Episode I
Yoda - Episode II
Mantis Bug - Starship Troopers
Fire Beetle - Starship Troopers

what else?

Probably the Kaminoans in Episode II and the T-Rex in Jurassic Park. Yoda is pretty damn good as well.

I say the clonetroopers in AOTC. Every shot of them, close up or far away, was a CGI character.

I agree with the Dino's in Jurassic Park. Also, that Anakin Skywalker character in AOTC was incredibly realistic CGI! :)

I can't believe I'm the first to say Jar-Jar Binks. You may hate him, but man, was he well rendered.

I'll go with the bugs in Starship Troopers, fantastic CGI.:emoji_thumbsup:
The T-Rex in Jurassic Parks 1-2-3 was excellent too, but I hated the new Spinosaurus dino in Jurassic 3, looked like something out of a Japanese Godzilla movie, even as CGI it looked fake.
The all CGI movie Dinosaur had superb photo realistic animation.
A special mention to gorgeous Aki from Final Fantasy, a perfectly rendered babe.

I'll have to agree with Jar Jar.

When I saw TPM in the theater, I thought it was someone in a rubber suit. The DVD makes him look a bit more CGI-like, but still pretty real.

I like how several shots of Jar Jar WERE indeed live-action...

Oh yeah...Moo Yu in Kung Pow: Enter The Fist is pretty convincing.
