Greetings all! Just wondered what everyone's most anticipated PC game releases for the year are. I had been looking forward to Unreal 2, but the reviews have been so unrelentingly bad I gave up and won't even be getting it when the price drops.

However, on the bright side, 2003 could see the release of the following games:
    • Doom III
    • Thief III
    • Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

    How about you?

Thief 3 is being developed by Ion Storm here in Austin. I know a couple of people working on it, and it's supposed to be awesome.

Enter the Matrix should be pretty big as well.

    Same with Jedi Academy.

Doom 3, Half Life 2, and Rise of Nations (Only one of which my computer can actually run)... I'd also be anticipating Duke Forever if I had any hint that it would be released this year.

I'm also sure 1000s are anticipating Star Wars Galaxies, although I'm not really sure that I'm one of them.

I'm not a big computer gamer but I'm planning on getting a new desktop between August and the end of the year (about time anyway) so I can play

    Star Wars Galaxies
    Tron 2.0
    Doom 3
    Everquest 2

(in approximate order of release date, not how much i'm looking forward to them)

Will also be nice to finally be able to play American McGee's Alice at more than 20 fps

Planetside. I'm getting sick of the single-player FPS games, and sorely miss Tribes.

I didn't realize Half Life 2 was coming out. That should be very cool.

Confession: I made it all the way through Half Life 1 and quit at the final battle. Even with cheats and hints, I found the evil space mutant baby impossible to kill.

I need to pick up Deus Ex now that it's only $20. I started it a long time ago, and never finished it. My FPS jones is getting hard to ignore.....

I think N.U.D.E. just came out in Japan. I have no idea if they plan on releasing it in the US, but I'd really like to try it out. I don't know crap about importing games, though.

I'll add my vote for Tron 2.0. I just saw the preview at GameSpy and it looks really cool.

You know, I think I've already got my most anticipated title - Championship Manager 4. As much as I'm looking forward to the likes of Half Life 2, I'll clock up more hours/fun with CM4.

Half Life 2 and Far Cry. I'd be surprised if Duke Nukem Forever shipped this decade. Funnily enough, there's talk of an Unreal Tournament 2004 and a new iteration of the UT series (the 'next' upgrade with newly improved graphics) for 2005 or thereabouts. I bet both of those beat DNF to the market as well.

I'm sure there'll be some cool stuff shown at E3, so my list of anticipated titles will probably expand shortly.

Deus Ex 2, by a long shot. In a rare bit of optimism, I'm also looking forward to the next Tomb Raider.
