There are some insane combos in this game, that are very hard to pull off.

I'm loving it though! Unlocking everything is going to be a real task, because the "koin" value of some of those "koffins" is insane.

I did manage to beat it with Scorpion this evening though, and that was quite satisfying. Mavado (he wasn't even the final boss!) is one tough SOB. He continually whipped my sorry ass about 15 times before i took hime down. I did manage to get a nice fatality on him though, so that made vistory all the sweeter. I'll have to learn to fight with hime one day.

Yeah, I just beat it with Scorpion too. That Moloch creature is just a BEAST! He whooped on me 8 times in a row. Now I've got some coins, time to go to the Krypt! This game rocks! And whoever said some of the combos are insanely tough, NO KIDDING! I have the Xbox version, and I think a few of them will be near impossible to pull of outside of practice.

too bad they cant make a Mortal Kombat fatality controller, where you can program up to 4 or 5 fatalities.

So then all you have to do is hit one button.

or is it more fun trying to do the combos everytime??

I severely need to buy an S-controller for MK : DA. The directional and layout (and curve) of the buttons doesn't feel right in a fighting game.

I think an S-controller will really help me in terms of combos and such.

I don't find the fatalities that hard to do, especially when you change your stance to "Fatality" at the end of a match, and then input the commands. It's quite easy.

Chris flynn- yeah ineed the controller s as well so I told my brother that is what I wanted for my birthday (Dec. 18) but I am getting it on Sataurday. there is quite a few empty koffins, I think I got like 10- 15 empty koffins already, the cooking with Scoprion is great. Plus a nice hint is buy things with low value, like 2 or 3 sapphire koins, because they will usually give you quite a bit of another color koins. For those of you having trouble with fatalies try kenshi(my fav.) and do foward, back, foward, down, 3, on xbox it is the A button, that is the easiest fatality to pull off, or if you just want to see the fatalies go to options to diff. to max and go to arcade mode I got to the fifth fightr like this, but usually if they kill you they will do a fatality. I don't know if you can unlock more fatalies but I hope so, becuase I have unlocked close to 200 koffins and no more fatalies, I unlockes UA, last night and it said MK4 PC version, I was so happy I thought they included the orginal games, but then it was only a pic, of the orginal box.
My only gripe with the game is the difficulty and the one fatalty per person, but other than that I would say this is the best fighter of the year if not of all times.

The game is insanely difficult, if you only stick to one fighting style. Using Scorpion, I usually start of in Hapkido, then switch to Ninja Sword to finish the job. If I find that I'm getting spanked while using the Hapkido style, I switch to his Pi Gua style for some closer range attacks.
I also tend to use his spear, then Hapkido Up+4 kick, as I can get three hits in a juggle with that, and then I spear 'em again.
I don't mind the one fatality that much, mostly because unlike previous MK games, I'm enjoying the fighting aspect of the game much more, not the bloodshed.
As far as buying Koffins is concerned, I just bought all sub-100 koin koffins, and the majority of them had more koin in them.

You know.... only one fatality? Thats kinda stupid... why not more? And at that.... half the fatality's are kinda lame, and just not very cool. The worst I have seen was Quan Chi?? I am still hoping that come tomorrow on FATAL FRIDAY things are gonna come out......big things..... Maybe I am just hopefull..... I guess well see..... (crossing fingers)

Hey, did you know that you can not copy your data file from one memory card to another? I keep a backup memory card of all my games in slot 2 in case I accidentally overwrite or delete my game in slot 1. Hey, I've done it before. You can't even load your game up, switch cards and then save it to a new card. Boo on that. I guess they want to people to build up their own characters and not just save a buddy's game to their card. That's my theory.

Maybe the "big surprise" is an unlockable MK game (like one of or all of the old ones) or some more fatalities once you unlock EVERY coffin.

BTW, the developers wanted to put the focus on the gameplay, so the fighting styles and stuff have taken the front seat while the backseat goes to the fatalities. MK1 had one fatality per person, MK2 added two fatalities (or more) and other things, MK3 went crazy, MK4 tried to fix this, but DA just goes back to the basics.

Game stopping bug in MK : DA.

Using Frost, fighting against Mavado on the Drum Arena stage... Opening move is a ground freeze... Xbox LOCKS UP.

Happened the two other times I tried under the same circumstances.

Apparently this is happening to a lot of people, and it does occur on both older Xboxes as well as newer ones. I've tested it out on two of my friends Xboxes and the same thing occurs. It might also happen while fighting Raiden on specific levels as well.
