First Vegas Matt makes a joke about this as a bad sequel idea, now it really is apparently on the way.
Havana Nights is getting underway but no casting has been done yet. This according to an article from Variety which says that director Guy Ferland will get production going later this year.
The premise quoted from the Variety article...

Inspired by the original but set in 1959 Cuba, "Havana Nights" revolves around a 17-year old girl who moves to the island with her family. While there, she defies her family's wishes when she falls for a local dancer, who helps her discover herself and a world beyond her sheltered life.
