According to the Rumor Mill over at the Digital Bits, the following Ingmar Bergman titles will be released to DVD by MGM later this year:

Hour of the Wolf, The Passion of Anna, Persona, Serpent's Egg, and Shame, plus Bergman special editions.

Nothing officially announced, but very good news indeed!

I'll be picking up The Passion of Anna, Persona, and Shame. :emoji_thumbsup:

Oh yeah, they mentioned something about a Fargo SE. :)

I love the freaky "Hour of the Wolf"--closest thing to horror Bergman ever did! Freaked my wife out seriously.

But PERSONA is my alltime favorite! I've been waiting a long time for this one.

I'll rent "Serpent's Egg", just to confirm that it really isn't very good, but I'm buying all the rest! :emoji_thumbsup:

I'm glad to see that M-G-M is not scared of Foreign films.
I've never seen "Hour of the Wolf", but it sounds interesting. I'll have to buy it.

I'm taking a wait-and-see attitude. I'm sceptical that these will be as good as the exceptional work Tartan has done with Bergman in the UK. But if they have significant extras, I'll be buying.

I agree with Brook. It's good news, but MGM tends to put subpar effort into their film catalogue titles, including the World Films line.
