Ethan Hawke was on Late Night recently and talked about Moon Knight a little bit.

I think the Disney+ Day was a lot of hype with little substance, but here's 30 seconds of Moon Knight:

I think people got more hyped up for upcoming teases than for actual content on the service yesterday. Disney mismanaged the messaging on this in that regard.

The most exciting thing for me yesterday was being able to watch Shang-Chi again. Also, Jungle Cruise dropped the Premier Access surcharge and is now available for everybody to watch. Those are two very big successful titles that are now available. We also had new Olaf shorts and a new Home Alone movie drop yesterday. I was more excited about having access to new content right now than I was about the very limited teases for future stuff that we got yesterday.

But Moon Knight has Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke, so I'm sure I'll be excited about that when it gets closer to coming out.

Interesting that it appears to be set in London, and the character (or at least the Steven Grant personality) has a British accent. In the comics, Marc Spector was born and raised in Chicago and the son of a Holocaust survivor. Moon Knight mainly operated in NYC/Long Island and Los Angeles.

New York City already has a surplus of heroes in the MCU, especially if the Netflix Marvel series have been brought back into the canon. But I'm a bit surprised they didn't go with Chicago. Then again, for the parts of the story set in Egypt, a nonstop flight on British Airways from London to Cairo is only about five hours, where as a JFK to Cairo is at least double that.

This has a really cinematic look to it. Could be really cool.

Also, here is the official poster.

Are you a fan of the comics? I'd be interested in your take on the interpretation once it gets going.

It dawned on me that this is the first Disney+ series for Marvel that does not primarily center around a character that we already know. Everything that aired last year was spun out of characters we had already seen in the films. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how that impacts the response to the show out of the gate. Endgame did a great job of ending things, but it also provided jumping off points for what would happen in the shows that aired last year. This one is completely new and hasn't been seeded in any other previous MCU project as far as I know. That being said, I love Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke, so I'm definitely in. I like the look of the trailer and especially that I still don't know a lot based on it.
