When is Monster's Inc. supposed to be out on DVD?
Don't Expect it before the 3rd quarter as it is Disney/Pixar we are talking about.
I am also waiting for this movie to arrive on dvd and I am
very curious what Pixar has done with the dvd.
I THINK a fairly recent digital bits rumour mill or news section said it was due in October, likely in both SE and standard forms knowing Pixar/Disney. FINALLY opens theatrically in the UK next week, looking forward to it.
Definitely will be picking up the 2 disc version of this, which I've never done before for one of Disney's animated films. Just a great, great movie, no matter where your tastes and preferences lie.
I can't wait for this release myself. I only went to see it for the AOTC teaser and for my sister, but left the theater loving the movie. Very funny, no matter how you look at it.
I only saw Toy Story before this. Now I've seen A Bug's Life too. I like Pixar now. Really didn't know much about Pixar before. Now I think they're great.
My god.. I wish I Hadn´t seen "Toy Story 2"... I think that´s the best PIXAR har produced.. with Monsters Inc. a VERY close second..
I think it will be more like May or June.
Bug's life debuted around May of 1999(actually I think it was April). Toy Story 1 and 2 both came out in NOV, but they were Disney's bigguns for the season....and Disney's Biggun this year is Beauty and the Beast.
That fact alone makes me think it will be Summer instead of fourth quarter. Disney doesnt want to blow their load.
Besides, the insert in the VHS Atlants says Monsters Inc is coming soon. Which means in the next ten months or so.
On the Atlantis CE DVD it also says "coming-soon" for the Beauty and the Beast DVD. I guess now B&B is an October release and Monsters Inc probably a November Title.
Monsters Inc. director Pete Docter's mom (great lady) is my music education teacher, and she says Pete is off doing promotion for the film in Europe. Then he's off to Japan.
I doubt any significant work is going on on the DVD right now.
I've been telling people October, but that little flyer in the Atlantis dvd that states Monsters, Inc. is coming soon on dvd seems to imply possibly a quicker release date than we anticipated.
Hard to say, but I'm hoping it's quicker than October.
