    Hello all:
I just received my copy of Monsters Inc. and noticed something that I thought was a bit odd. I could not find any posts on this either, but if I missed them, please direct me to them.
My copy defaults to french and I have to select english from the languages menu.
Is this par for the course or have I got an oddball?
The packaging is in english and so is the text on the disc face.
This could easily be a Canadian thing too.

    Thanks for the insight.

    Roy

I got my copy in Edmonton, and the default language is English.
    I'd say you've got a collector's edition! [IMG]
Too bad they didn't put in the dts and sfx tracks while they were at it...

I have the same problem with mine in Ontario.
It is a pain in the ass to always have to switch the language on my disk. [IMG]
It is bad enough that they dropped the audio fx track but now French is the default language. The French language police must be working overtime!

Thanks for the info. If I buy this movie, I'll make sure not to get the Canadian version.

    My copy defaults to English.

I gave the movie a go in French after of course having watched it separately in English, then with commentary, and was surprised at how well the French voices kept with the tonal spirit of all the characters throughout the movie.

Yes, even though disc one also included "For the Birds" and "Mike's New Car" complete with optional commentaries, and multiple sneak peaks, the disc totalled only about five gigabytes. Surely the four gigabytes or so of remaining space could have been used for the isolated sound effects track? I would have been willing to forgo the duplicated shorts on disc one since they also appear on disc two!
