There isn't aything wrong with using an HTS2500 on it's side, is there?

Everything that I want to plug into it doesn't quite reach, but if I put it behind the TV (on it's side), then I can plug everything in. It's not an enclosed area, so ventilation/heating shouldn't be a problem.

The only thing I could think of is maybe EMI...?

I think it would work fine. Certainly worth a try, although may be a HTS 2000 would be easier and supposedly has the same filtering as the 2500.

I agree with James... if it's space that's your main concern, definitely go with the HTS2000. It has exactly the same filtering. The HTS2500 was made for people who wanted the HTS2000 but preferred a rack mount.
