Underpriced... for what u get Very cool blue display lights with good info that can be dimmed or turned off completely. Fantastic build quality XLR and RCA inputs Very very nice speaker binding post remote triggers Very quite in operation Nice, huge power cord included
and to my ears they have the sound quality and power stability to compete with the big boys (Bryston, Krell, etc...) just my opinion, mind you
Geo, I'm glad you think they're under-priced because I bought them at 50% of retail. I purchased one 3 channel for the fronts and two 2 channels for the set of rears. I hoping my HT will meet all my expectations.
Certainly the designer of the Monster amps knows what he's doing (Richard Marsh). Amps under his own name (Marsh Sound Design) have been reviewed with very high marks.
I've only heard the Monster amps once, and I was impressed but this was in the context of a system and it is difficult to seperate out which component contributed to the overall sonics.
Underpriced? 3 grand for a 3 channel amp is underpriced, or $2,500 for a two channel amp= $5,500 for 5 channels @250 per channel. It must be those pretty blue lights that cost so much.I must be missing something if that is considered under priced. What would my Outlaw 755 5 channel amp @$1,300 be considered? It is also quite, and comes with a 12 volt trigger ,and a big ass power cord and built like tank @ 78 lbs. Also 250 watts per channel.
there are definately cheaper amps out there for sure. and some that are even better. i wasnt impressed with the monster amps. the power thing baffled me. at their training, it showed a pair of deftech bp6's taking 500-watts RMS... there is NO way. that power meter is gotta be off. and in addition to that, they sounded muddy, sloppy, and distorted quite easily. but, my opinion. i hate the lights on them personally.
i think there are other options, but 50% is nice, no matter that it is, i know that from experience
