Looks cool. Seems way overpriced. I think anyone looking to purchase seperate amps already knows to look elsewhere.

"Laboratory-grade digital power meters monior acutal power output and dynamic range."

It always amazes me how companies can post such an expensive product, but, can't even spell words correctly. Doesn't anyone spell-check?

    Is $2999 for a a 250W X 3 amp a better $ per watt performance ratio than 1999 for 200 X 5 for

By my math Monster costs $4 per watt and the Rotel is 2$ per watt.

Did I make even one comment about the "quality" of the product. The Rotel is a much better performance per $ I said it I proved it its right there in black and white. I didn't bash a product I knew nothing about I merley bashed the value ratio. I KNOW what that is.

You know I post very often on a Basketball board and it amazes me how often when you post any negative statitics about a player how often people immediatley scream HATER. I guess home theatre boards are no different.[IMG]

Monster definatly charges a premium for their name. It has been working so far. $1500 for a voltage regulator is rediculous, but it sells.

It looks good but I'd rather pick up a used Bryston/Lexicon or Cal Audio Labs for that kind of money.

I'll stick with my Crown Macro Reference. When I finally build my ultimate tri-amped speaker system, I will invest in QSC amps. Monster amps will not be considered, even at half the price.

    I agree with Alan.

If you need a TON of power, how about 3 QSC RMX 1450's bridged mono for a nice 3 channel amplification system. They would cost less than 1300 for all three amplifiers, and your total power output would be 900wrms x 3 into 8ohms or 1400wrms x 3 into 4 ohms [IMG]

Those Monster amps will go nicely with Bose lifestyle speakers for a totally superb system..
Look for compare vs Lexicon MC-12 and Mark Levinson systems in next issue: Overpriced Monster Magazine...

It's unbelievable that you people are so quick to pass judgement on a product you have NEVER HEARD

Get a freakin Clue boy's and girls, this might just turn out to be a killer amp "as far as you know".

This place is really going down hill....[IMG]

disclaimer: I am in no way defending an amp I have never heard and have no affiliation with Monster products. Just ranting about the adolescent ramblings of some juveniles

OK JamieS, In your world, performance/value = dollar per watt. So how about this brand new KLH receiver I found at best buy for $149.00.

At $149.00 with 500 watts that's less than $0.29 per watt. WOW! now that's performance per dollar. Plus you also get a 2-color fluoroluminescent display, Unified full-function remote, Built-in Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic decoding, 6 DSP modes: (Concert, Theatre, Church, Arena, Stadium, Club), Digital AM/FM tuner with 30 station presets, 2 digital audio inputs (1 optical, 1 coaxial), 3 S-video, 4 A/V and 3 stereo audio inputs, 1 S-video, 2 composite video and 2 stereo audio outputs, Bass/treble control and you even a Headphone jack and speaker-on/off control.

That appears to be a lot more performance than even your Rotel can offer!

How's that for spelling our your performance/value per $ ratio in BLACK AND WHITE!

It's unlikely that Monster even makes the amps as they have no experience in that area. More than likely, the amps are made by a respected manufacturer as is the case with their voltage regulators.
