    To Whom It May Concern,
The weirdest thing is going on with the Momento DVD I rented - I can't
seem to access the special features on my DVD ROM.
The anamorphic video and DD 5.1 surround sound are fine on the disc, but
in the main menu screen, there's no option for special features or what
not. The only other link besides "Play", "Scene Selection" and the
audio "Setup" is an option which is blacked out with what appears to be
    marker and says "Reverse."
When I click on this option, it takes me to a screen which lists the
movie in its proper order (black and white scenes first, Leonard leaves
himself a clue to kill Teddy, and the last chapter listed is where Teddy
is killed). All you can do is play a single chapter though - it wont
    play all the way through.
This is really odd, as I figured the special features listed by your
site and numerous others (short story, half hour interview with the
director, notes on Leonard's tattoos) would be available. Browsing
through the DVD itself with Windows Explorer I can't find any text files
or HTML documents of the official site.
What makes this even odder is that I remember reading about an option
which the company was going to come out with that would allow the user
to watch the movie in reverse; perhaps what I talked about above is the
    poor end result?
I live in a small town in New Brunswick, Canada, a small Province north
of Maine; on the DVD itself ( I rented it and didn't get the actual
case) there's the "Alliance" symbol on it (they distribute numerous
movies from bigger studios to Atlantic Canada) so maybe only this crappy
version is available around here (I hope not!) or is this more
    widespread problem?
The movie itself is awesome, and I'm considering buying it, but I'd
rather wait and get a better version from somewhere else, I was just
wondering if you guys and your wildly informative site could help out a
long-time reader such as myself. Thanks for your time and
    consideration; I've
included my system specs below (I tried to send some small screen
    captures of the
menus before but I received an error message saying either I couldn't
    send
mail over 100k or you couldn't receive it ; if you're interested in
    seeing the two menus
    screens they're only 70k each).

By the way, this is my first time posting to this forum, so bare with me if I'm seem a little out of place. Also, I copied that message from an email I was sending to another site; sorry if it looks messy!

Ergh, the normal one doesn't have that many extras, but I still wouldn't mind having them!

    Mike,
you got the Canadian version which lacks the extras on teh American version.
Where did you buy it? J&R Downtown and Virgin Megastore in Union Square both have the American Version. I believe that Blowout Video in Times Square has it as well, but DVD Palace on 8th & 44th carries the Alliance Canadian version.
    Good Luck.

Mike, welcome to the HTF! Questions regarding DVDs should be kept to our Home Theater Software forum. I'm moving it there (follow the link at the top of this thread to be re-directed).
If you run a search in software, you will actually find a number of existing threads regarding the Canadian release of Memento.
