Mogwai in a jeans commercial?

    Now I think I've seen it all. There was a thread a while back about feeling hip when TV commercials use obscure music you like to sell products.

    Well, i can say that i about shit my pants when I saw that Bison stampede jeans commercial that used the amazing atmospheric raging guitar rock of Mogwai (the song came from their excellent album TEN RAPID).

    Weird.

    Never heard the band or the song before but every time I see the commercial, I say to myself "Stupid commercial, cool song." At least now I know who they are.

    It was one of the lowest rated Super Bowl commercials.

    Yep, the band is from Scotland- they are called MOGWAI. They are part of a movement of similar noisy/atmospheric bands like Tortoise and Flying Saucer Attack.

    The track appears on the "collected recordings" disc called TEN RAPID released in 1997 on Jet Set Records. The song is called "SUMMER".
