Hello!
Planning to buy my first home theater within the week and need guidance. Around 4000$ Canadian budget.
Need/picks:
1- LCD or Plasma 46" - 52" TV
Samsung LN52B610
2000$
2- MKV media player
LG BD590
Iomega ScreenPlay Director
500$
3- 5.1 speakers (rear wireless)
HT-BD1250
HT-TZ322
HT-TZ322
500-1500$?
I'm confused about 3-
Can't you just buy decent standalone 5.1 speakers (rear wireless) and plug them directly into either of the components i listed? Such as a TV similiar to LN52B610, Iomega or a bluray player something like the LGBD590?
I don't understand the concept of A/V receivers. They seem to be needed in almost every case? Or why in the example of the Samsung HTs I posted, they are bundled with bluray players. So i would have 2 "media players" in the end..?
I'm trying to figure out if i one "BOX" could do everything.
Ideally how i'd picture it:
#1 Buy TV
#2 Buy MKV player (Iomega?)
#3 Buy 5.1 speakers that can either be plugged directly to #1 or #2 (No A/V receiver required...)
GOALS
1)Play .mkv files from internal hdd (iomega) / USB (external hdd)
2) transfer over wireless files from desktop to MKV media player
3)play mp3s and DVD-/+R
4)laptop connectivity (display screen on TV)
5) Wii (later on)
Not interested in Blu-Ray discs or 3D TV
Please help! Thank you!
