Mixing Paradigm lines? (1 Viewer)

I currently have:

Monitor 7s

CC-350

ADP-170

I want to start moving towards the studio line and wonder if anyone out there ever heard the Studio CC mixed with the monitor series left and right.

I know my rear adp's are the titan drivers so they do not match the front and it's not bad.

Any thoughts on this? Is it a bad idea?

I guess another question would be,

How much would 2 Studio 40's and the studio CC cost me new?

I found someone selling these used for $1100 with some stands (But they aren't the Paradigm stands)

Studio 40s and a CC may run you $1260 with 10% off.

This is what I have with adp-170s in the rear.

I have not run the CC with the monitor line up front, but the CC is an amazing center. I watched The Man Who Wasn't There last night and was in awe of the clear dialouge, cigar puffing, and cigarette lighter sound effects.

If you cant do it all at once, maybe you can have your dealer rig up the CC to some monitors and have a listen.

Robert,

I ran a Studio CC (my new center) with a pair of Monitor 7's for about a week before I sold off my 7's and CC350.

The 7's were "playing catch-up" and were overshadowed by the Studio CC, but not by much. Actually, it was a close second for the 7's. But you could tell they were not up to snuff with the Studio CC. Not a bad sound though at all ( ;>) ), and I would not hesitate if I were you if you choose to upgrade to the Reference Series this way.

My 40's are on the way now and it has been a tough wait. My original order was for the 60's ,but they are seriously backordered right now (ship maybe the first week of June) and I decided to get the rosenut veneer 40's w/ stands instead. I think I made the right call.

If you want to look for good pricing on the Reference Series e-mail me privately and I can hook you up with a good source.

I ran my cc for 2 weeks with mini-monitors while waiting for my Studio 40's with the rosenut veneer to come in. I must admit that I had second thoughts about spending the cash for the 40's (only for a second or two) since the mini's sounded pretty darn good with the cc. Now that I have the 40's and the cc together, the mini's don't sound quite as good as I had thought. Personally, I think mixing monitors and studio as an upgrade path works. btw the 40's with the rosenut veneer and the Premier j-50 stands looks awesome!

Now Steven, really !!!!

You are tormenting me with that Very nice photo setup you have while I wait till next week for my 40's to arrive.

BTW, I agree with your assessment as well about using a Studio CC, for instance, while playing Monitors while you plan the next Studio upgrade. My 7's sounded pretty good while the Studio CC was "playing host" in the center.

Nice setup you have there. What wire you running to the 40's in the photo ?

If you want to start moving towards the Studio line, you should do it soon, since the word is the current Studio line will be replaced with more expensive models in the fall.

Sorry about "tormenting" you with the picture :D, I know it's tough to have to wait for upgrades to arrive. I waited 2 weeks for mine, but I feel the wood veneer is definitely worth the wait (could have had the black laminate right away). Also the speaker wires you were asking about are Tara Labs Prism bi-wire.
