I'm new to the world of HD RPTV, as I just got one last week. I've watched two DVDs so far and have been very impressed. Shrek was great and I thought MOnsters Inc looked outstanding.
I got my copy of Star Wars Ep.II back from a friend yesterday and expected to be blown away from everything I read about the tranfer but I was quite dissappointed. To me it looked very grainy and overcompressed (the reds in Palpatine's office, Chap ~3 were very blocky/course).
For what it's worth, I have a Pioneer 656A DVD player which is progressive, and the Mits 48-511 RPTV. Does anyone have thoughts on why this would have looked so poor on my display or have suggestions on how to improve it. I just set everything up with AVIA to the extent I could without going into service menues (that comes later).
As always, I'd appreciate your thoughts....
