I'm getting this TV as a replacement for my Sony Trinitron 32". I'm convinced that it's better, but wanted to know one thing...
Will a Progressive Scan DVD player make a noticeable difference in the picture?
I currently have a Sony 650D (5 disc changer), but want the best available picture. And do cables matter (I don't want to start a page long debate, just a yes or no).
    Thanks,
    Matt

yes progressive will give you a sharper image and cut down on artifacts.

I saw this exact set being demo'd to a couple using the Tosh 6200 dvd player - which is able to show either a progressive or interlaced signal thru the same cable by pressing a button on the remote. I was astounded at the difference - even the internal doubler of the set didn't do justice to the progressive pic from the 6200. Much more of a difference I would have thought possible...

The progressive will give you better color also. However, when you start watching movies in HD you may not want to watch DVDs anymore!
