As a current resident of Dubai. It was quite special seeing Ghost Protocol at the cinema. There is some kind of magical sensation you feel when scenes in a film are actually taking place nearby to where you are actually sitting. There is a cinema in the mall next to the Burj Khalifa tower. I felt the same way seeing Mars Attacks whilst on a trip to Washington DC, the local audience gave it an extra special vibe. I will also never forget watching "The Russia House" in a cinema on Finchley Road, and they walk down this road in an early scene in the film, as I had only done moments before to get to the cinema. On a passing note, I think the sandstorm is a little OTT, we had one just this weekend, but visability was still at least 500 metres.
