Seems like when I added a reply to an older thread in the TV Shows forum, somehow the thread title got bodgered off so that all you see is ".[first post]" but not the title... Here's the actual thead:

Are you two fellas running any kind of ad blocking application?

I've noticed this and put it down to AddSubtract blocking certain phrases (I have loads set up for HTF). I haven't had time to look into it further just yet.

Would an admin please label this thread: X-Files 12/09/01 - SPOILERs AHOY!
Currently the thread is labelled as an underscore _
    Thanks!

Check this thread in Forum Feedback. So far I've seen threads do this with " / and now ? in the title - since these are all 'special' characters in both MySQL and HTML I suspect thats the cause of the problem.
p.s. Windows 2000 with IE 5.5 sp2 and a company firewall here. Normally, if there is something it doesn't like though we just lose all access to the page.

Well, it looks like there is more to it than that, as my attempts to reproduce the problem in the testing area have failed so far.

I've seen the same problem all over the HTF. Also, sometimes I'm seeing the entire contents of a first post in the thread title. The SVS contest thread did that to me a couple of times, along with a few of Ron's reviews. I think that was just a browser problem on my end. However, I think the "underscore" thread title problem is real.

    Regards,

    ~~Nathan

I just noticed this problem on a thread I started on this board. When I entered the thread earlier today from a computer at work, I saw the subject on the message board. However, now I don't see the subject on my computer at home. [IMG]

I noticed this problem yesterday, and tried editing some of the thread topics (removing ? / or ") without success.

Changing the topic to something new then changing it back to the original title seems to fix the problem, however.

    Hopefully Parker can comment further.

I have this corrected. The thread review popup didn't like quotes in the first message and would strip the topic headers in the link so I had to remove it.
