So did anyone else hear this? Jon Stewart clearly said f***er after one of the news stories. I've set up my Tivo to pick up the morning showing to see if it's still on there. It's not a live show though, so I'm surprised the censors missed it and I expect it'll still be there. I wonder if the FCC will pick up on it.

It replays again in 20 minutes, I'll stay up and check it out. I missed the show the first airing.

It's a sticky situation. CC isn't a broadcast channel, but also isn't an exclusively paid cable channel like HBO, but if the advertisers don't care, then I'm not sure if there is a problem. CC has aired the South Park movie completely uncensored, but granted, it was on late at night on a weekend, IIRC.

I didn't even think about that Thomas. There was also the episode of South Park where they said shit throughout it.

We happened to be watching at the time and we replayed it multiple times on the Tivo to verify. My friend who watches the show religiously said that it was a recurring joke for Stewart to lean forward and say, "Those f**kers", but it's always bleeped out. Well, almost always.

It was like the Janet Jackson boob thing all over again, except this time I got aroused.

    Kidding.

Good thing it did not happen on CBS or there would probably be no television anymore

Jon regularly cusses, but it's usually bleeped, that's why I found this surprising. It was pretty blatant. It sure did make me laugh.

When I heard it, I thought I was mentally "filling in the blanks" ... until now.

BTW - I vaguely remember when nipple-gate broke. He said something like, 'we're a cable channel and we can show it as many times as we want to'. The "offending" body part was NOT fuzzed out at the time.

    YMMV

I watched the second airing of it at 2 AM [IMG]. It was bleeped this time. It was right after he finished the interview with Samuel L. Jackson correct? So maybe they caught it after it aired?

The non-bleep was during the first segment right after a clip of GWB talking. It was also before the Asian porn report.

Strange, I didn't hear him swear anything during the earlier part of the show and I was paying close attention. [IMG]

On a side note, that Asian porn piece is hilarious! George Takei, Sulu, during it cracks me up every time. [IMG]

I watched the rerun the following day. First he said "That fucker" non-bleeped after the newsreport. Then he said it again after the interview with Sam Jackson, and that time it was bleeped.

I will now sue Comedy Central for damaging my fragile little mind.

I watched the Friday morning showing and it was not bleeped at about 3 minutes in after showing the Bush press conference when he was going off on activists courts.

When I watched it and heard him say it, I wasn't sure if it was what I thought it was cause he kinda whispered it. Watched it 7PM the next day casue that's I thought one of the times they replay the show the next day, but it was a different episode. Oh well, at least I heard it the first time. Wonder if they'll make a reference to it not being bleeped out on the enxt episode.

I thought it was great when he said they hadn't received one e-mail or phone call or anything. I've talked to some others that heard it clearly also. I'm surprised no one complained at all, I guess those who do watch the show are quite loyal to it. Plus if you were only watching it because you had it on that channel and were watching one of the lead in shows, it's doubtful you'd be offended by much.

The FCC does not have jurisdiction over cable, only stations broadcast over the airwaves, but there are rumblings in congress to change that.

Actually, the FCC does have plenty jurisdiction over cable, but there is no precedent for 'indecency' control over cable (no 'public airwaves'). They've said they'd like to do it but have acknowledged that they probably wouldn't get away with it.

These guys need to get a life.

I heard the f-bomb once on live Daily Show election night coverage, in 2000. Lewis Black gave a great rant, and as they were panning back and fading out to commercial, Stewert leaned over to Lewis and exclaimed "outta the fucking park!"
