I am taking the journey into separates. I just purchased some Marantz Amps.
    Marantz MM-9000
    Marantz MA-700.

I have a Marantz AV-550 Preamp. I will be upgrading to a newer model down the road.

I plan on running the left front and right front channel with the MA-700. The MM-9000 will power the other channels.
Will this affect sound quality? I wondering if the RF, LF and Center should all be receiving the same amount of power.
The MA-700 is 200 watts and the MM-9000 is 150 watts.

    Thanks for your help.

Ideally the fronts should be the same power – even better, all the way round - but it’s not the end of the world if they’re not. Mine aren’t – I have the receiver’s internal 100-watt amp driving my center and rears, and an outboard 250-watt amp driving my L/R. It’s always worked fine. As long as you don’t run out of headroom with the weaker channels, that’s all that matters.
