Hello All,

Can anyone who owns Miracle Mile on dvd confirm whether this is indeed an open matte transfer, or if it is pan-n-scan? Knowing this would make a huge difference for me in deciding whether or not to purchase.

Thanks

This has been a very controversial issue around here, the fact that this film was released full frame. (You can probably find the old thread in a search)

I believe someone once posted that picture information is lost. It is not really panned and scanned (where artificial panning and scanning is done) but that there is picture information cut off on the sides. It was only 1.85:1 so not a lot is lost.

Since the film is likely to never be released on DVD any other way, if you want to see it again, you better get it before it goes out of print. The DVD is only $12.

Indeed. It really is a fantastic roller coaster ride of a movie! A great thriller in every sense of the word. Just bite the bullet on this one, and enjoy Anthony Edward's superb, surrealistic performance.
