Long before he becomes the master of evil, Gru is just a 12-year-old boy in 1970s suburbia, plotting to take over the world from his basement. When the infamous supervillain group, the Vicious 6, ousts their leader, Gru attempts to join their ranks but soon finds himself the mortal enemy of the apex of evil. With Gru on the run, the Minions attempt to learn martial arts to help save him, and Gru discovers that even bad guys need a little help from their friends. The film is written and directed by Kyle Balda (Minions, Despicable Me 3, The Lorax), co-directed by Brad Ableson (“Minions Holiday Special”) and Jonathan del Val (the Secret Life of Pets 2), and co-written by Matthew Fogel (The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part) and Brian Lynch (Minions, The Secret Life of Pets), starring Steve Carell, Pierre Coffin, Taraji P. I'm not sure I'm liking Universal's new announcement schedule... This is just a couple of weeks out while Jurassic World: Dominion was officially announced a week before its release.

I heard it's better than the Minions Movie. Anyone seen this new installment?
(Belatedly) yes and I’d say it was a lot better than the first Minions.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the demographic for this, but I found it quite charming and funny. I always love the Minions, but this film was much sharper with better non-Minion characters and a much better story. I wasn’t struck with the first film, but this I enjoyed a lot. Boy Gru was great too.

A wonderful family film.

I loved it, though I’ve been a fan of these movies since the first one came out in 2010. Crazy to think how this series has been around for as long as it has and just keeps going.
