I know Sony recommends a minimum viewing distance of 8 feet with this set. However, with what I have to work with, and making sure that the side surround speakers are still to the side of the listener, 8 feet is the maximum that I would be sitting from the TV. I would probably be around 7 feet plus away from the set. Will this work or should I consider a smaller set? Any comments from owners of this set. How far are you away from it and how does it look from an angle?

    Miguel,
I'm 13 feet from my KP57HW40, and could easily get away with 10 feet, so I don't think 7 or 8 feet will be a problem for the 51" model. If your using a mediocre cable signal, the doubling may be a bit ugly from that close, but a strong cable or ota analog picture should be fine and dvd and HD will be quite nice indeed.
