I remember back when this movie first came out and my girlfriend(now my wife) asked me to take her too it. In those days, sappy story laiden movies were not my thing so I told her to go with some friends. A week or too later a buddy and I went to see the Specialist with Sharon Stone and Sly Stallone. What a piece of crap, so we decided to take in another movie. We snuck into the next screening of Forest Gump. What an excellent movie. Tom Hanks in my book is one of the best actors out there. He's had a couple of duds but over all has done well for himself. Tonight the wife and I finally got too see the movie together on DVD. An excellent DVD at that. I'm not one for being picky about the DVD or looking for faults in picture/sound. To be honest I wouldn't know what too look for. From what I can tell the picture quality is excellent as well as the sound. Most action from the speakers is in the front until he gets to Vietnam when the rears and sub come into play. The DVD is packed with extras on two discs(commentary, documentaries, photo gallery, etc). A definite must for a collector.
