I'd recommend "The Best of TV Detectives" in a flash . . . . one of the most entertaining sets that I've had the pleasure of viewing and there are a few rare-to-see shows included, along with some very popular shows. The only drawback is that you will experience variable audio/visual quality on the episodes. If you are familiar with public domain material, then you'll know that most episodes are sourced from 16 mm prints. With one or two exceptions, there's really nothing horrible on this set (or other sets from MC), it's just that if you are expecting high quality a/v, this set and many others from MC won't fit the bill, i.e., it's all very watchable but far from pristeen. For example, the "Burke's Law" and "Mannix" eps. on this set aren't in the same class as the official releases; they'll remind you of the 1960s "rabbit ears" antenna viewing experience, but I didn't find the "Checkmate" episodes to be all that much different from the official releases. You can pick this set up for $13 and change if you take advantage of the DeepDiscount sale going on now through the 29th. A really low-cost risk, IMHO.
