As I was spinning the Joe Jackson soundtrack, it occurred to me:

Has anyone, outside of WB, seen the original edit of Mike's Murder?

According to IMDB and other sources, it was apparently edited in a non-linear fashion but the studio choked and had it put it in chronological order before release.

It's been a long time since I've seen it but the original idea is compelling.

I'd like to see the alternate version. I'm a big fan of the version that was released. I don't suppose Warner would ever release a DVD with both versions?

If anybody would release the alternate version, it would probably be Warner. I'd even take a flipper to get both.

I did vote for it on the new Warner Decision Poll. The version released in 1984 was a underrated gem. A modern film noir. I hope it gets released. But if the original version exists it would be cool to see. I'd even go to a theatre to see it. Unfortunately James Bridges has long passed.
