It's probably a rounding error caused by people less than half-liking a post or quoting just part of your posting.

I think I've got the logic of the "0" Alerts icon figured out.

I just refreshed my screen and saw the little red "0." As soon as I hovered my icon over the alert bell, the red "0" disappeared.

It's as if it wants you to know proactively (as opposed to passively) that you have seen all the reasons you might have a new alert.

My description is lacking...but it seemed to make sense to me just a few moments ago when I experienced it!

I'm super-psyched that the old "Forums" dropdown menu is appearing again, I want to genuinely thank you guys for being receptive to our concerns and bringing it back.

I think it's still a work in progress, though, because right now the forum links all trigger a "Not Found" error.

For some reason, I find that the first search attempt consistently brings up the "No results found" message, but the second attempt, using the exact same search words, is invariably successful!

    CHEERS! :)

    That's because of this issue:

    http://www.hometheaterforum.com/community/threads/migration-related-feedback-questions.345656/page-24#post-4356692

I assume you are initiating your search from the home page, which is generated from WordPress and is not technically part of the forum. When you get the "no results found" you are now in the forum, so when you try the search again, you are searching from a different starting point (i.e. the forum), not from a WordPress page, like you were when you started.

Initiate a search from say a review article (which lives on WordPress) and you will get the same result.

For all intents and purposes, the search and alerts and such in the upper right corner are cosmetic when you are on a WordPress generated page and lack the functionality of the actual tools once you're actually in the forum.

Here's a sample of one of the links:
    Code:
    http://www.hometheaterforum.com/web/20160314172009/http:/www.hometheaterforum.com/community/forums/speakers-subwoofers-headphones.48/
    Notice the double URLs

The first URL is to the Page Not Found page
    http://www.hometheaterforum.com/web/20160314172009/

The second URL is to the desired forum area

Something odd just happened. In the Movie section, the thread entitled Star Trek 3.... I was looking at the first page and replied to post 19 of 534. My reply was placed as the last post on page 1 as post 535 of 534. I refreshed the page and all is well. My post is at the end and is 535 of 535.

BTW, I've decided that I don't like the way we now get a forum list (click on Forum List next to New Posts) as much as the original way. Just my two cents.

Looks like you've brought back the method I prefer. when I hover over Forums (next to little house symbol) a drop down box shows up of all the forums. Only problem is the links don't work. ;)

I've noticed this on a couple different forums when posting replies, so I don't think it's an HTF issue. It must be the way the forum software is written.

I see the forum dropdown is back when you mouse-over, but clicking an option results in an oops! that page can't be found. I can still do everything from the forum list page. I liked the dropdown, it saved a click or two and scrolling.

Yeah, I gave up on it, and suddenly it was there again. I saw, after my post, that it has been discussed recently.

I just made comment on the review of Lillies of the Field. There are two ways to see a review. One as a normal thread and two as, what, a specially formatted post used for reviews. The first way has my comment and the second way only shows me quoting a previous post and my comment does not show.

Second, when I go into the Movies forum, it notes the Filter is based on Directors when I've made no such selection.

I just tried entering a spoiler quote for the first time. My problem is, it either shows up within the title, or else it comes up blank!

By the way, I just tried it here, and it is blank on my screen! No Spoiler Alert tab, or anything displaying!

Any idea/s as to why this is happening? :P

    CHEERS! :)

When you code a Spoiler tag manually with:
    Code:
    [spoiler]This is a spoiler.[/spoiler]
    It works. Example:

    This is a spoiler.

When you use the menubar button, it gives you the option for placing a "Title" ("If you would like the 'Spoiler' button show a title that hints at its content, enter your text here. To avoid having a title, leave the text box empty.") If you type the spoiler in that field it will look like this:
    Code:
    [SPOILER="This is a spoiler title."][/SPOILER]
Which doesn't work because there is still no text between the two spoiler tags as is with the first example above. If you type between the tags, it will look like this with a title:

    This is a spoiler.

Perhaps you're typing your spoiler into the "Title" field in the Spoiler button's dialog box and not between the two tags in the editor after you've clicked "Continue" in the dialog box?
