Does anyone know if there might be another round of MGM's Midnite movies...or even better....what some titles might be?...i am a big fan of these, and hope there might be more.
    thanks.

I sure hope that MGM did not kill the Midnight Movies line. I have not heard a peep anywhere and they are due for another release.

yeah it would be bizarre if they kill the MM lable, as its the only thing they do right consistently, imo.

I hope "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" will be available soon and that it will be widescreen.

Does MGM own the rights to all AIP-produced films?

Here is the (full?) list: AIP Movies

Panic in Year Zero! is mini-masterpiece, in my opinion and I'd love to own it on DVD. Ray Milland was a great actor and this film proved he could stretch himself further in this intelligent and intriguing sci-fi gem.

Who owns the rights to Futureworld?

How about a remastered anamorphic edition of Dillinger with a commentary by Milius?

I read recently that Susan Hart, James H. Nicholson's ex (not widow--they were divorced before he died) owns the rights to I Was a Teenage Werewolf and Frankenstein. She got them as part of the divorce settlement.

I'm hoping for BLOOD AND LACE, which "Psychotronic" author Michael J. Weldon referred to as one of the sickest PG-rated films ever made.

As for MGM owning the rights to all the AIP films, another company is releasing ABBY this month...

The ABBY DVD is a bootleg. It's not authorized, looks terrible! There is another company with an even worse bootleg out there.

There will be more Midnight Movies, but likely not until Aug 2004.

Meanwhile, enjoy BLACULA and SCREAM BLACULA SCREAM from MGM coming next month as part of the Soul Cinema line.

I hope for RETURN OF COUNT YORGA, BLOOD AND LACE, FOOD OF THE GODS, MADHOUSE, OLD DRACULA among others. It would kind of stink if we have to wait all the way until August again.

I would like to see an OAR transfer of the Roger Corman/Karloff thriller THE TERROR. It's a PD title, and most of the DVD's available are terrible; it would nice to see an authorized release of this, and it would be a perfect Midnite Movie.

The general timeline seems to be April and then August. That being the case, we should get a new set of Midnight Movies announced some time next month.

I have been asking around about this, and it seems that there will only be a batch in August. In that case, I hope there are some gems in there.

My most wanted MGM titles at this time are THE RETURN OF DRACULA (with Francis Lederer) and THE QUATERMASS XPERIMENT.
I think pairing RETURN OF DRACULA with RETURN OF COUNT YORGA might make for an interesting disc. Please take note, MGM! [IMG]

RETURN OF DRACULA is a great 50s horror film, and it would go nicely with RETURN OF COUNT YORGA! Also would like to see THE VAMPIRE with John Beal.
