This is for Mike Knapp. http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htfo...236#post594236
Lots of movies have the good looking guy getting the beautiful girl. But what movies are there where the middle-aged, balding, slightly overweight guys get the beautiful young girl, without having tons of money?
Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Grumpier Old Men both sort of fit, but I can't think of many more.
BTW, while this is clearly tongue-in-cheek, feel free to respond if you want to. :)

A bunch of beer commercials do.
I'm not sure how old Fatty Arbuckle was in 1917, but he was always getting the girls when not beating the crap out of Buster Keaton and Al St. John.
Likewise, Bill Murray in Groundhog Day isn't exactly svelte (okay, he's not ghastly looking, but surely Andie MacDowell could see five years down the road).
Homer landed Marge, but I've come to consider her as a surrogate mother, so the thought of finding her hot weirds me out. :)

Any recent Woody Allen film, minus the weight, but balances
out with being more than middle aged.
Also, Jack Nicholson with Michele Pfeiffer, Cher, and
Susan Sarandon..Witches of Eastwhick..then Jack with Michele again in Wolf.
On a more serious note, I hear very good things about
The Tao of Steve, which features an slightly
pudgy guy who draws women with his charisma...

As a almost-middle-aged, balding, heterosexual, slightly overweight male, I like the Terminator movies. :D

The protagonist in Haiku Tunnel is involved with two rather attractive ladies during the course of the film.
The big fat guy in Austin Powers 2 did get to spend some time with Heather Graham...

Bill Murray in Groundhog Day...or Osmosis Jones, or Scrooged (though the latter 2 he doesn't exactly get "the girl".)
Oh yeah, somebody did mention GD above...I'm losing it...
Oh...and why was this thread moved out of movies?

My guess is this thread was judged to be humorous instead of a serious discussion on Middle aged, balding, heterosexual, slightly overweight male friendly movies. But you see that's really the whole problem, middle aged, balding, heterosexual, slightly overweight males are never taken seriously. Every other stereotyped group has "issues" that make others sensitive to their plight, but alas, not Middle aged, balding, heterosexual, slightly overweight males. We simply get, as the President of the "Middle aged, balding, heterosexual, slightly overweight males" protection society President, Rodney Dangerfield says, no RESPECT! ;)

> I take it wearing a "rug" qualifies for this thread.
Except Shatner insists he doesn't. :D Want to see him go ballistic? Ask him about his hairpiece.

Entrapment comes to mind, with Connery getting a delightfully svelte Catherine Zeta-Jones. And I just saw Don't Say a Word, and was taken slightly taken aback by Michael Douglas somehow managing to snag Famke Jansen (sp?) as his "wife".
