I’ve seen him on the forums, and I probably interacted once or twice; can’t say I knew him but I’m sad none the less. A loss for the forum for sure. RIP.

He was always extremely gracious, and generous with his answers to what must've been annoying fanboy questions that I would to pester him with, all those years ago... RIP.

As someone who actually writes about these things, I know far too many commenters by name, and I just don't enjoy listening to most of them anymore. It's a chore, not a pleasure. Yet I always looked forward to his. I just wrote up Kino Lorber's reissue of One, Two, Three a month ago, and while I already owned the previous disc and had listened to his commentary before, I ended up listening to the whole thing again, from start to finish. His voice offered the textbook definition of an "old friend".

I re-watched IAMMMW just this past weekend and listened yet again to his commentary... It won't be the last time.

Very sad news. We watched Criterion's "Holiday" on Blu-Ray Monday night, and afterwards when my wife wanted to see what the supplements were, there he was, hale and hearty, happily discussing the movie with Michael Sragow. I'd forgotten that discussion was on the disc, but it was a lovely reminder of what a delightful presence he's been on HTF. My wife wondered why I left the room for a minute.
