Just got this set an hour or two ago, and I haven't watched anything but "Prodigal Son" the Season 2 premiere. Unfortunately it is clear that the set is missing music from the original NBC cuts. [IMG]

Just out of curiousity, what is the music that is missing here? Do you remember the specific song that was there? Because to me, it doesn't seem like there should be any music there.

I am not 100% sure what the music should be. Some say it should be Lou Reed "Goodnight Ladies"

I might be mistaken here. On a thread on miamivice.org, there is some who believe the music for this scene was changed for sydication and that what appears on the DVD is the original as-aired NBC cut. I'll update if there is a definitive answer found.

I have the original laserdisc and the DVD and there is a song playing in the background on both but it is very faint. I'm not familiar with the song but it's the same song on both LD and DVD.

I did a check online and found a sound clip and it does sound like "Goodnight Ladies" by Lou Reed. Guess they turned down the audio really low during this scene.

"Goodnight Ladies" IS there. It is very faintly playing in the background.

Although the music is there, what is missing is the announced bonus feature "Ride With Vice" as reported in TV Shows on DVD and some trade publication they mentioned. TSoD did acknowledge in one of their news items that a menu shot they received did not include the link to the bonus feature but it could have been another menu shot. Unfortunately, the bonus feature has been omitted from the set.

It's not like you're missing much....the bonus features on the last set were pretty lousy to begin with. Universal should really try to do some worthwhile stuff for their extras....what they do now is minimal to non-existant which is really pathetic. [IMG]

There is no music missing the club scene is exactly at the volume it was when it originally aired. I dunno if the syndicated version was altered but as far as original broadcast it is identical.

Perhaps the title of this thread should be re-edited.
