MGM to Release Vampires Kiss August 27th

    One of my guilty pleasures is set to be released on August 27th with commentary by and interview with Nicholas Cage.

    Woooo Hoooooooooo !

    Now where the hell is Wild at Heart!

    Just maybe this will open the floodgates so that other Hemdale titles like 'The Belly of an Architect' and especially one of my all-time faves, 'Miracle Mile,' can be released.

    August 27, however, is going to be known as the Day Mark Killed His Credit Cards.

    I remember the late Pauline Kael's review of VAMPIRE KISS alluded to the fact that the movie had a quarter of an hour or more of footage removed before the release. MGM's notes for their August Midnight Movies series mentioned that their new VAMPIRES KISS disc would be the 'long version'. Is this another MGM restoration, and has the inclusion of previously deleted footage served as the clincher to persuade Cage to appear in an interview/commentary track? Just curious...
