MGM and subtitles (1 Viewer)

In the beginning MGM had English subtitles on all their movies. Then for a good two years they omitted this very important feature completely. Last fall with Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal they started supporting English subtitles again on most releases (at least it looked liked it to me). I was once again very happy.

Now in the last two weeks I got around 10-15 new MGM DVDs and only a few of them had English subtitles. What is going on here? Have they removed this so important feature again? Please tell me it was just a hiccup?

I'm guessing that MGM has the authoring machine going full tilt, and some of the titles they're releasing were actually authored QUITE awhile back. I think it'll be another year before we see reliable English subs

MGM has stated that DVDs authored beginning November 2001 will all caontain English subtitles. So I would assume that titles authored prior to November would not.
