Kris, couldnt agree more. this and puppets remain my favorite albums by them by far. I even prefer garage days over the rest.

Yes, Kill 'Em All was the album that put Metallica on the map. I remember people criticizing Ride the Lightening as being too mellow. :)

Matt, I couldn't agree more. It's a great album but it is also one of the worst sounding CDs I own so it doesn't get much play. Is the new Vinyl copy a significant inprovment?
The CD sounds like it was meant to be played on a boom box.

Does anyone remember the picture albums of this record and the songs off it? :)

Leave out most of the newstead years. The only Metalica albums worth anything are "Kill 'Em All", "Ride the Lightning", "Master of Puppets", and "And Justice For All". "St. Anger" is decent but needs more riffing and atleast a solo. The rest of their albums are worthless

RtL is, IMHO, the best Metallica album. I bought it on cassette when it first came out and I still listen to it a lot (on CD of course). Kill 'em all and Master of Puppets are just a notch below but still great albums. I don't listen to their new stuff.
