Dad built me a beautiful wall unit to house my 65" TV, DVD collection, components, bookshelf speakers, etc. and we chose to cover the speaker enclosures with a black fabric mesh, which he picked out after talking to some people at Radio Shack.

Seems like the fabric is a little beefier than the stuff I had in mind, like the mesh I have covering an old set of speakers floor speakers. And the sound is definately affected, but I can't say for sure that its a problem. I just turned up the treble and it seems to punch thru okay.

But it does bother me. Any thoughts?

Grille cloth is cheap. Maybe just get some from partsexpress.com. Also search the DIY board. I know I've read about different fabrics to use as grille cloth on the DIY board.
