Just thought that those who were fans of his work should know. Latest film was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Died of Hodgkins Disease Wednesday. My thoughts go out to his family.

    Don,
He will be in the next Potter film. I'm given to understand that he just finished his part of the takes before he fell more seriously ill and died.
But we can also memorate him for his many other roles. Not all as brilliant, but always above par and some really outstanding.

I merged both threads about the death of the great British actor Richard Harris together.

I heard that he was responding well to his cancer treatment. A true shock. A gaping hole has been left in the film community as another timeless talent passes on.

Wasn't he the one that sang "McArthur Park" back in the 60s?

A sad day. Richard Harris was one of my favorite actors in the 60s. His fans forgave him for "MacArthur Park", I think. The King is dead, long live the King. (He appeared as King Arthur in "Camelot")

"What will you do without me, dear Robin, now that I'm dead."
I loved him as King Richard in ROBIN AND MARIAN.
    RIP

Sad, sad news. Another brilliant actor leaves us. R.I.P., Mr. Harris.
(I'll always fondly remember the guy spouting the non-sensical dialogue in Orca.)
It's nice (albeit bittersweet) to know that we have two more performances of his left to enjoy.
