Sorry, I realize this has been asked since God created the Earth, but what is the status of DRAGONSLAYER? RAGTIME?
PRETTY BABY? Thanks for any info.

I doubt that they'll be this year.

Paramount, these are two lesser known titles that I would kill to see released on DVD. TESTAMENT is the second greatest nuclear holocaust film ever made in my opinion, and PHASE IV is a fantastic, underseen horror/sci-fi gem which is the only killer ant film that is actually scary. These are by far two of the best films in your catalogue, and DVD releases (preferably with some extras) would be most appreciated. Any news on these at all?

I would also vote for TESTAMENT. But I would call it the greatest nuclear holocaust film .

I absolutely concur. These are two very fine films which get overlooked among the more high-profile releases. TESTAMENT is more timely now than ever, and scarier - a nuclear holocaust movie with no blood, explosions or special effects, but which brings the grim subject matter to a human experience level which can be identified with by anyone, especially those with children whom they have high hopes for in the future. A superb cautionary tale with a heartbreaking performance by Jane Alexander (where has she been lately, anyway?) PHASE IV was designer Saul Bass' sole directorial effort and contains some pretty amazing stuff, not least of which is Ken Middleham's (THE HELLSTROM CHRONICLE) insect photography. Somewhat muddled story with a bizarre ending, but deserving of a DVD release and now sought-after by an ever-growing cult (as are THE NAKED JUNGLE and THE NAKED PREY, two more Paramount no-shows).

    Hi,

I heartly concur with all the above. I would really like to see Paramount release these two titles. I am hoping they are either already in the works or on list of upcoming projects.

    Thanks,

    Brent

I'd love both titles on DVD, especially Phase IV, a real sleeper. Would make a great double feature with The Naked Jungle.

Testament is one of the few films that I have held onto on VHS...I would gladly purchase this film.

I'm going to revive this thread nearly a year later on the outside chance there's any new information. The particular title I am interested in is Ragtime.

Are there particular issues with bringing this title to DVD?

**EDIT-- I'm sorry, I did not realize there was an all-encompassing thread containing requests for Paramount releases. I am surprised to see, however, in searching that thread, that Ragtime seems to be MIA on HTFers' request lists. I am surprised by that.

Ragtime was nominated for 8 Academy Awards -- Howard Rollins, Jr., Elizabeth McGovern, cinematography, music, screenplay, & costumes.

Might as well throw this in:

When can we expect the forgotten Zucker film, Brain Donors?

Here are a few titles I hope Paramount will be able to release during 2004. I think they've hinted in the past that one or two of them are (or were) under consideration.

    Ace In The Hole
    One-Eyed Jacks
    If...
    Ragtime

In particular, Paramount should acknowledge that giving public domain status to 'One-Eyed Jacks' has been a disaster, resulting in several appalling transfers being dumped onto the DVD market for unsuspecting buyers. Please Paramount, it isn't too late to give this great movie the high quality DVD release it needs. If it requires a full restoration, can you at least assure us that there are plans for this to happen.
