I'm interested in this DVD and was wondering which version I should pick up. I seen at least 2 region 1 versions talked about(don't have a region free player as of yet, but plan on getting one). Any recommendations?

Unfortunately they are both crappy. There is the Canadian version as well as the newer U.S. version from MTI/Dead Alive. The transfers are terrible and no extras. I thought I read somewhere that Anchor Bay is doing it in 2003 so we can hope for a better release.

Yes, this is from a chat held with Anchor Bay on the www.horrordvds.com website a few months back. I actually e-mailed Anchor Bay shortly before the chat took place, and they told me there were no current plans for Feebles, but I guess they changed their mind. If you've already waited this long I would hold out for the Anchor Bay SE.

True, but if it's anything like the Bad Taste LE that came out a while back I'll be perfectly satisfied.

Any non R1 releases of this movie that are worth it? I'm hoping to get a region free dvd player by the end of the year.

    AB will release Feebles! Yay!

I just got BrainDead (UK) Version the other day. It is fully uncut 104 minute version. It is 1.66:1. not 1.85:1. and the U.S. release (trimark) is much better picture quality.

The UK is uncut, not sure if the frame is just opened up a bit more. But it's mono (don't know if that's the original score) and the video quality is not as good the Trimark one.

Incidentally, the UK version is a Universal release.

    straight from Anchor Bay's website:
"They're not for kids. Some are good. Some are evil. They're not your average ordinary people. Peter Jackson's splatter-puppet classic comes to DVD from Anchor Bay. Many special edition features are being planned Get ready to MEET THE FEEBLES like never before. Closed Captioned For The Hearing Impaired."
While this is nothing definite, I'd say it's cause to think this release will be more than a bare-bones disc. I can't wait!

I rented this movie.. it looked decent..... but it turned out to be horribly crappy (in my opinion) Am I missing something? Do people really like this.. I dont mean to make enemies over some puppets here, but could someone explain the attraction??

I heard somewhere that Anchor Bay hopes to release the films soundtrack. Imagine how cool it would be to listen to Sodomy on the way to work! :b
As for the guy who doesnt like the movie, and wondered why others actually do, well...its hard to defend a movie with a musical number about Sodomy. To each his own. I laughed my ass off, you didn't, we're both right.
And i'm out for a fruit smoothie at midnight.

That's exactly what AB's Michael Felsher said about the soundtrack... it would indeed be cool to have it playing while driving. [IMG]
I also liked this movie a lot. Its twisted energy is just awe-inspiring. Love that Vietnam flashback!

I am someone who usually doesn't like "f**ked-up" films.
But this one, beneath all the sick, has a heart of
    sweetness.

For the longest time even I couldn't figure out why I
    liked, okay...loved, this film.

Then someone in here summed the feelings I had never
been able to put to words and it all clicked.
