The reviews in EW weren't kind, but NBC decided to pop the series preview in the ER timeslot tonight (10 p.m. EDT Thursdays), but its season premiere will be on Friday tomorrow in its normal 10 p.m. EDT timeslot.

I am on the fence on the premise (and how you can make each week something nutty and interesting in terms of medical "whatdidit").

I don't plan on watching, but what kind of stupid name is "Medical Investigation"? Took a lot of creativity making that one up!

i watched the last 40-45 minutes of the show last night...looked good in HD. the show is very similar to CSI and even the main two male and female characters have the same CSI feel to me. as you can tell i watch CSI, and my daughters, ages 3 and 5, know of CSI and it being in HD. at first glance to medi investi, they asked is this CSI dad? these type of shows interest me so i'll try and check it out tonight again, and see if it is a keeper.

I just hope this show doesn't continue along the lines of:

These people did this and a subset of them got sick, what could it be? WHAT COULD IT BE? WHAT COULD IT BEEEEE??!?!??

    That could get boring quick.

Yeah, that's what my wife and I wondered.. watched it TiVOd (playing with an HD Cable TiVO like recorder now!) later, and we wondered where this show was heading. The acting is not so good (IMHO) but that can always improve.

I thought this was pretty good. But as Patrick mentioned, the exact same dramatic formula will get really old really quick if each episode follows the same pattern. If they can't find a way to change it up, I will be done with it after 3-4 episodes.

I saw the preview for this show and it looked really interesting, however these types of shows give me panic attacks and I can't watch.

    SO what turned everyone blue?

Will the formula get old though? I mean Without A Trace is basically the same things day-in/day-out.

I enjoyed watching the PR lady. :b

Was kinda let down by the ending. The beginning had me though. The main guy sure seams like a prick though, and with his complextion combined with short bleached hair he almost looked like he was suffering from a different disease. [IMG]

Just glad to see more shows in HD.

I'm interested in this show. Nice music and it is nicely filmed. I wouldn't call the show great, but it is better than HAWAII. I will keep checking it out.

So far the two episodes have been very similar in storyline. Almost exact actually. If that is how it is going to be then this show will get old fast. But with the characters and the visual style, it is growing on me. Hopefully they can get some better stories that are unique.

Oops! I shouldn't have come in here, because I haven't seen tonight's episode yet, but I did see last night's. I'm glad no spoilers are up yet.

It was ok, but I will agree that it is going to get old fast unless the characters pick it up. There are way too many medical/morgue and cop shows with this premise out.

I got sick of ER a few years ago, and I've never, ever seen CSI (anywhere)!

I think I hope this makes it, but it WILL be up to the cast.

I thought the first episode was good for a first episode (haven't seen the second yet). I liked the time-lapse effects when the lead guy was imagining the people in the diner.

I knew there would be CSI comparisons, but CSI is just Quincy: Las Vegas. Any new hospital show will be compared to ER, and so on.

I think "Medical Mystery" is a better title, but I'll bet the "Investigation" is in there to make people think this is another CSI spinoff.

Todd, we don't need to put spoilers in. That's why I said Oops! I was just lucky, and should have known better.

As for that worm. Wasn't it a tapeworm? That makes you loose weight.

Yeah that worm was nasty. I thought for sure that the girl was pregnant...but then usually you gain weight. :b

Yeah, the lead character is very reminiscent of Quincy; he's a bit too over-the-top for my tastes. But the show is pretty to look at [IMG]
