I've had a DC since launch and I've been trying to amass a good library of games to hold on to. In my search, I heard a lot about MDK2 and I picked it up. I don't really spend a lot of time playing it and I'm about halfway through now (level 5 of 10?).
Is it me, or is this game a little difficult? I've playd a boat load of these types of games back as far as the MegaMan series on NES. It seems like it's taking me a lot longer to finish this game than any other game in it's category.
Anyone else have this experience that played it?

I have it and only got around 7 levels into the game. ITS HARD!!!
On GameSpot TV (back when that was its name) they reviewed this game and said it was going to be known for its difficulty. Its not just puzzles, too, its the actual shooting people and such.
But isnt it a great game?

One of the things I really liked about MDK 2 was the difficulty level. Some of the bosses could be fairly tough. I also played the PC version, and I thought it was more difficult than the DC version. Maybe partly because the DC controls were slightly better than mouse & keyboard for that game?

Whew,
I thought it was just me! I did happen to read a couple of reviews but I guess I didn't pick up the part about the difficulty.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but...
Yes Morgan, it is a great game!

Yeah, its real hard.. Im currently stuck at the part where you're the 6 legged (4 armed 2 legged?) dog, and you gotta jet pack up through three levels (where each level has those camera-guns), and fight the two 'bosses' that have those homing-fireballs... The first floor has the gas pump, and the two door things that have the hole and the question mark that gives you a mystery object or a punch in the gut...
anybody have any tips?

That section stumped me for ages too. I found the strategy that worked for me was to pump up the gas & head up a level, clear it, head up to the next, clear it, etc two or three times - once your gas is nearly done, start dropping /back/ down to the bottom, refill your gas, and repeat till you get to the second refill station. Then it really gets hard :)
I've still to finish the game - I play it, get further, get frustrated at another 'puzzle'/action section then leave it for a few months & come back to it. Great value for money - still playing it 18 months after I got it :)

Also, start firing once the doors open and you can take out at least one laser cannon up front. When you hit the ground, keep moving left and right while targeting each laser cannon.
You ain't seen nothing yet tho', it only gets harder once you actually get up through all the doors. That level took me a while to finish also.
Ditto what BrianB said;

Although I do plan on finishing it before the end of this year. I've only had if for a couple of months and I bought it for the low, low price of $9.99 brand new!

I should've made it clearer...
I did beat all the laser cannons and im currently stuck at the top level with the second refill gas pump and those two big guys with the homing fireballs at the top where you have to fly up and shoot them...
Thats the hard part...
