I think I can assume that The Masters of Cinema Series (MoC) doesn't sound all too unfamiliar for many people who frequent the Regional DVD Area. You can find the MoC's release (and upcoming release) list here:

    http://www.eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/

Personally, I find some of the movies very good (Spione), others interesting (Punishment Park), and yet others plain boring (The Face of Another). But they all have one thing in common: their DVDs look very good (not just the transfer but the package as a whole).

It might interest some of you that most of the MoC releases are now available from CD-WOW as well. For the CD-WOW.us list:

But you probably know it pays to compare all CD-WOW sites. When using a voucher, you can order some of them for US$18. I paid £10.99 for a few newer releases at CD-WOW.com.

Play.com offers a few (especially "older") titles at £9.99:

    These prices include P&H.

Yeah, Eureka's Masters of Cinema label is awesome. In February, they will release Nicholas Ray's, The Savage Innocents, a wonderful film that has - I believe - never been released on video before. It will feature a commentary by scholars David Ehrenstein and Bill Krohn.

They have real guts and have released films that I thought we'd never seen on DVD.

The Savage Innocents is available on DVD in Spain (Los Dientes del Diablo). It has a Spanish and English audiotrack and subtitles. Quality of the image was not superb but good enough. I paid €9.95 for it at DVDGo (Spanish e-tailer):

The upcoming The Prisoner of Shark Island sounds like an even better release in terms of bonus material for John Ford fans than Criterion's Young Mr Lincoln.
