pre-ordered Little Annie Rooney , hopeful that-these do well enough, that the foundation can work on releasing these titles in HD, sometime in the future

Daddy-Long-Legs (1919)
Tess of the Storm Counter (1922)
My Best Girl (1927)

How about both versions of Tess of the Storm Country?

YES!, would love to see that, Have the original collection that was released by Milestone, and it is a treasure, but would love to see more of her get proper HD releases,

would be nice to see Lilian Gish have some more releases as well, there are 3 that i would love to see done right

uncertain who has the original camera negatives of those, possibly WB, since they own a huge bulk of the MGM back catalog, but they do have a deal with Criterion now, and both of those seem like great choices

after more research

Silentera.com has such a great website, so most of the titles from Ms. Gish /D W Griffith are in the Cohen Film Collection, The Wind and The Scarlet Letter i believe have never had a North American release on DVD or blu ray

I also have all the Pickford-Milestone releases. I was able to see 35mm prints of both Gish films when MGM supplied them to MoMA in 1974. They were not in the best shape, as I recall, particularly, Letter. The elements may be in very poor shape.

if WB has them, it is amazing what their restoration department does, but the question then would be if the cost would be prohibitive for them to release a disc, and that is where releasing it through something like Criterion could soften the cost and marketing.

Mary Pickford has the advantage of having the Foundation working on the preservation of her legacy, well that and the fact that she helped start a studio, doesn't hurt, sort of similar to the Harold Lloyd situation where the Estate has a bulk of his material, and ensures that it is displayed in the best possible condition that they can work a deal for.

and yes, i do love silents, i am waiting to see when THE MACK SENNETT COLLECTION VOLUME II is going to be announced with a release date

If my memory is correct, I think Warners has the rights to Coquette, and the reason for that is that WB bought the rights from Pickford in the early 1940s for an ultimately never made remake with John Garfield. So, you'd have to take up the matter with WAC.
