MARY MARTIN ANNIE GET YOUR GUN (1 Viewer)

I see that there's a Blu Ray of Mary Martin's TV production of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN. Does anyone know if it's a marked improvement
on the DVD? I see that there are no subtitles, which is a disappointment since I'm hard hearing. However, I'd still grab it up if the picture
quality is better.

I didn't even know there was a DVD of it. I taped it off a PBS station eons ago, and that's what I've been watching any time I've had a hankering to see it.

I got it, but it had a sticking issue. I'll check the spot again, but it is a decent kinescope.

I don't know why they bothered to put it on blu ray. It's a kinescope and it looks like a third generation VHS. That being said, I'm still glad to have it because of its archival importance.

Mary Martin won her first Tony Award for Annie Get Your Gun. Not for Best Actress in a Musical, but she was awarded a special Tony for bringing the show to the country as she headed the first national tour. Joe E. Brown was given the same honor for headlining the first Harvey national tour.
