CRIKEY!!! Never seen anything like that before.
I just finished watching it. Holy crap, that's awesome.
Awesome. I love stuff like that. "Quake Done Quick" is another amazing one.
That's pretty damn cool.
As long as we're on the topic of speed runs, you guys might find this interesting.
Guys, I've tried downloading it a few different times. First time it gave me 2mb and said the transfer was done, 2nd time gave me 8mb, 3rd time gave me 4mb....would anyone who has this video, and any others like it please upload them to me?
ftp addy = www.dark7.org
login/pw = upload/upload
port = 21
I would really appreciate it. I can't wait to see it.
This guy would have kicked ass in the movie The Wizard.
EDIT: The file is on its way, Kyle.
Thank you very much. If anyone else needs the file, just login to the ftp with
username/pw = htf/htf
It looks like it will be done uploading to my server at around 6:15pm CST. I'll have it up until I get home from Bio Lab at 10:15pm or so, CST. Users will be limited to two, so expect 10-15kbps tops.
The file is 17.5MB, so if you log in and the file is smaller than that, don't download it. It hasn't finished uploading.
I'll host the file, you should get 130+ Kb/s down off of it, please don't pass this link around to other forums, it eats up too much of my bandwidth.

WOW! That is absoutely astonishing! He makes it look so easy!
Look at that hesitation around 1 mintue and 5 second mark.
just wondering, is the Japanese version any different then the NA version? Because you cannot warp from world 1 to the last, you end up as far as 4 with the first whistle, and 7 with the second, and he didn't go to the second world to get the third whistle... Either the Japanese version is different, or it's edited.
This is really bothering me
Kyle, if you could put your FTP back up, that would be phhhhheeeenoommennnnallll.
Seriously, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
Bert, I have it hosted, click the link in my post, 3 above yours
I'll try following his path on SM3 with Super Mario All-Stars on my SNES.
Thanks, getting it from you Scott. I just steer awayy from HTTP whenever potentially possible. I am FINALLY getting broadband Dec. 2nd (same day as Pirates' release and I haven't been able to get away from dial-up for years). So, no problem. On these "big" files, sometimes HTTP downloads will just stop randomly and I hate downloading agents.
I had the NES version, albeit it was the japanese version, and I do specifically remember being able to do as he did. I'd be surprised if you couldn't on the US version. The key obviously is to use it while you're on the warp island, not go to 4 first.
Also, I think the Japanese version is actually harder than the US in that if you have a special powerup, i.e. tanooki, hammer brother (and probably flower, or normal racoon), and got hit, you would go back to being Big Mario, while in the Japanese version you go straight to little Mario.
That was pretty cool but why did he/she spend so much time getting level uppers???
The level he got the lives in, is a controlled movement stage, it moves at it's own pace, you cannot make it go faster, nor can you go any slower, you just keep pace with how the map moves you. He couldn't have finished it faster evem if theyw anted to, so why not show off and get excessive free men while waiting for the level to scroll through
EGM had a story that was really funny - about a guy able to be Soul Calibur (Dreamcast) on Ultra hard with the fishing controller!!
Dave, while telling someone about SMB3 at work today, they mentioned that video. Didn't use any of the buttons, just the motion swings.
